ENGLISH WEEK

VIAJE LONDRES / LONDON TRIP 3º ESO

We at Big Ben

DAY 1:

This day, we arrived at Stansted airport, next to London, and we took a bus to the center of London.  Next, all of us took the underground to the hostel.

Later, in the hostel, we took the luggage to our rooms and all of us had the typical fish and chips dish. There were more chips than fish, and too much batter (rebozado).

When we came back to the hostel, all of us went to sleep, although it was really hot.

DAY 2:

We woke up and had breakfast at the hostel. After that, all of us took the underground to GREEN PARK, and all of us began a tour. We saw the typical London landmarks: BUCKINGHAM PALACE, TRAFALGAR SQUARE, PARLAMENT SQUARE, OXFORD STREET, PICADILLY STREET, PICADILLY CIRCUS, WESTMINSTER ABBEY, the legendary BIG BEN, THE HOUSES OF PARLAMENT, THE LONDON EYE… We bought food in a supermarket, next to the Big Ben, and all of us went to have lunch to HYDE PARK.

Changing of Guard

We had a really good time, and we rest on the grass for a while.

Next, we went to OXFORD STREET and we bought a Frapuccino in the Starbuck’s. At the end of the day, we took the underground to COVENT GARDEN where all of us went shopping.

We had dinner and went to the hostel.

Although some girls were a little scared at night (the boys pretended to be “ghosts”), it was a very good day!

DAY 3:

We woke up early and went downstairs to have breakfast. We ate cheese, croissants, orange juice, Nutella and coffee.

Then, we walked for an hour towards “the London Eye”. There we saw a man disguised as Jack Sparrow and we took a photo with him. Later, we went on a boat and sailed along the Thames River towards Greenwich. There, we visited the famous observatory. When we arrived to Greenwich, we didn’t get inside because we had to pay a lot of money, so we walked along the gardens, we rolled down on a little slope ( the famous “croqueta”), and we took many photos. We enjoyed the fantastic views of the city. Then, we went to a restaurant.  It wasn’t good because the food was bad. After lunch, we walked to the underground station. We got on the underground to go to the London Bridge and The Tower of London. Then, we went to the City to see the big skyscrapers. After that, we visited Saint Paul’s Cathedral. When we got hungry, we went to the supermarket and bought some appetizers. We had a snack and went to the shopping centre the rest of the evening.   Finally, we walked to the hostel to have dinner. I had a very big pizza for dinner and, finally, we went to our bedrooms.

DAY 4:

We got up at 8:30. Then, we had a shower and got dressed. We prepared ourselves for the day and we had breakfast. Later, we brushed our teeth and our day began. We left the hotel and got on the underground at King Cross-St Pancras station. We got off at Russell Square station. From there, we walked up to the British Museum. Inside the museum, we took a few maps and we spent two hours visiting it. We saw exhibitions on Egypt, Greece, China, Italy, Japan, Medieval Europe, and the Americas. After that, we took the underground to Camden Town.  Once there, we ate pizza, burritos and kebabs. Then, we went shopping. We saw all kinds of shops: gothic shops, antiquaries, souvenirs shops, hipster shops, shoe shops, tattoo saloons… We returned to the hotel, had dinner, relaxed, put on the pajamas, and later we went to bed.
